There’s nothing like a day at the ocean side to make you forget about strangling your boss. And whether you spend your vacation on a sandy beach by the roaring waves, or the snowy Alps by a flickering fireplace, a vacation isn’t a vacation unless you can soak in the season for all it’s worth. It’s a shame how many people forget that sometimes the greatest value can be attained just by being in a new a refreshing place doing absolutely nothing.
    Too many times, people forget the ancient art of, how do the kids put it these days, chilling out. Oh, to be alone, to feel peace, to get the sound of human life out of your head and relax. Even to get your own thoughts to fly away –now that’s a vacation; and some places more than others help to make that happen, places where you can walk alone and let the surroundings pull you into harmony with trees.
    Or do you know a place where you can close your eyes without fear of being disturbed? Music is nice but if you can achieve perfect silence that is music of its own kind. Is this the vacation you need? Nature has its own music, a symphony in which birds and frogs, crickets and humming birds play instruments that accompany your splashing while the drum beat of your heart sets the rhythm for everything around you, ever so gently as you breath in the beautiful sunlit solitude.
    Even the ocean makes a friendly sound because it reminds you how fiercely it will keep your everyday life away from you. Or maybe you’d just like to find a place where the life is so easy that you can finally close your eyes and soak your feet. Ah, silence.
